DOWN: Video Interview With JIMMY BOWER, REX BROWN Available
October 17, 2008San Antonio cult TV show "Robb's MetalWorks" has just posted an interview with Rex Brown (bass) and Jimmy Bower (drums) of the New Orleans supergroup DOWN. Conducted in San Antonio back in November 2007, the chat just aired on the program's September 2008 episode. Jimmy and Rex talk about the reformation of DOWN, writing for "Over The Under", Jimmy and singer Philip Anselmo's sobriety and whether the band will continue in coming years. DOWN has just released a "deluxe edition" of its critically acclaimed third album, "Over the Under". The deluxe package, which was made available as a Best Buy exclusive, includes a DVD with over 30 minutes of previously unreleased live performances and behind-the-scenes footage. The album was released on Down Records in conjunction with Warner Music Group's Independent Label Group (ILG).
DOWN frontman Philip Anselmo (ex-PANTERA) revealed in a recent online post that DOWN has recorded at least six new songs for a possible new CD which may also include previously unreleased material from the "Over the Under" sessions.
DOWN has landed the coveted support slot on the upcoming METALLICA U.S. tour starting October 21 in Glendale, Arizona. The band will also play select headline shows between METALLICA dates.
DOWN's video for the song "On March The Saints" can be viewed on YouTube. The track comes off the group's latest album, "Over the Under", which was released on September 25, 2007 through ILG/Warner Music Group (one day earlier internationally via Roadrunner Records). The LP was issued in Europe as a limited-edition digipack CD featuring the bonus track "Invest in Fear".
